Octo ..How are you going ??? Moved into your new home and started your new job ?? Are you enjoying it ??
-
Hi Lucy:
I am officially moved, and the furniture is now all here! Note change in location on avatar!
Job is great, but I've been busy and oh, yeah, I snuck in a vacation there too...
More soon. Hugs to all!
Octogirl
-
congrats octo, enjoy new mexico
-
Octo ..Great news !!!
Iris..How are things with you ??
Well...we finally have a roof on our new build ..Feel like we are getting somewhere at last !!!
-
lucy, thanks for asking .about me. Just back from my chemo so tired. This last week i had problems with the last infusion, my hand and ached and hurt. So doc has decided to do a port to give my poor veins a rest. Nurse convinced me it was good idea. Onward
-
Proud, it is a godsend. No being poked a million times for blood work or treatments.
-
Iris, I hope the port helps with the aching and that you get some good rest!
Lucy, wow! Your new place is big....guess that means I have to come for another visit when it is done... :-)
After our vacation together hubby went back to California to get our other car and some stuff that was still there....he just arrived here in New Mexico last night after a 2.5 day drive (it is about 1000 miles or so), and I am so happy to have him here...the place is starting to feel a bit like home, Here is the view from my new deck....Sunsets here are lovely.
-
octo, what a lovely view and it sounds like you are settling i to your new home
Gee i just bartered an old qvc brand pilates machine for plumbing help on a clogged drajn. Good deal to me,
-
Octo .. Wonderful view ..!!! You and Hubby are definitely invited to come and stay with us !!! :-)
Iris ..That's great ..the good old barter symptom can often work well !!!!
Had Hubby's Mum's 80th birthday party yesterday ...it was a month late , due to trying to get a date everyone could come ...But in the end it was worth the wait ..Everyone had a great time ..
-
lucy, yeah, it was a very minor clogged drain so sort of hard to find someone to work on smal
-
proudtospun- I like your bartering style. You are so right when it comes to finding a person to do the small jobs it's difficult. Handyman & contractors only want to come out for larger jobs or several small ones. Sorry to hear you're aching and in pain. Hopefully the port will diminish or eliminate your pain.
Octo- beautiful view. I've never been to New Mexico. I heard it is a lovely state.
Lucy- congrats on your new roof. I'm sure your house is going to be beautiful once it's finished.
-
have to confess, sort of thin k my drain got clogged when i lost my hair last year!
Rule is do not try to clean up sink hair by rinsing down the hair, all clear now
Bartering is good, i barter an extra parking space for watchfulness from my neighbor!
-
Iris...yep..I know I'm guilty of cleaning up sinks occassionally by rinsing the stuff down the plug hole too !!! ( Only if Hubby's not watching though ! :-). )
-
A photo taken yesterday where we are building the new house
-
luvy-what an adorable pictire. Please provide me with some education. Is your new house going to be near a forest or National Park? Is this normal to have kangaroos so close to your home? There is something exceptionally sweet about a mama with her baby whether it's a kangaroo, dog, cat, Rhino, etc
-
Lucy love the pic. Adorable. I also am interested in hearing more about the kangaroos
-
Jo and Capecodgirl..Our house is on a 1.5 acre semi rural block ..it is quite common to see wallabies/kangaroos in areas like ours..but you wouldn't see them in normal suburban areas ..
-
Wow—adorable
-
oh so adorable, much more adorable tham the rabbits and squirrels in my ne k of the woods!
-
Lucy, congratulations on the progress of your build! Very cute photo! Octogirl, your view is lovely. Iris, I hope you are feeling better. Hi everyone. I am getting by day to day sometimes minute to minute. I miss Wyatt so much and still haven't quite got it in my head I don't have to schedule around DH anymore to provide coverage for caring for him. Anyway much love to you all.
-
gee, i seem to have developed an allergic reaction to the infusion chemo they put me on, called doctor as i told her no idea how she could do the next treatment, everything seems to trigger pain in my right arm and as well as itching and big redness. Guess she will figure somethi g out we were going to do a port this week but now not sure
So i am a mess tonight!
-
Molly- everyday has to be a struggle for you without your darling son. Proudtospin-- hopefully you're allergic reaction will be something simple that the doctor can deal with very quickly. How frustrating anf painful for you. Has the pain or redness diminished?
-
Iris, that sounds awful! Please bug doc again if it doesn't get better.
Molly, good to see you here, please pull up a chair on the porch and we'll keep you company. I know how much you must miss Wyatt! Sending hugs and love back at you.
Lucy, totally adorable! Made me want to dig out the photos from my trip....It's been too long.
-
Definitely joining you on the porch, Molly. Not that this is an exact parallel, mind, but it took a couple of years for me to stop thinking "I've gotta tell Mom this...."
-
my next onc visit is friday, in the interim i am not using any creams on my arm as that is what triggers the burning feeling. We were going to do a port but guess we will figure it out. Not sure if they will change meds on me or not
-
Iris, sounds like it could have been a skin reaction related to what they used to prep your arm for the I.V., or possibly an inflitrate of the chemo into the surface capillaries. A port might avert that next time out.
QMC, Molly--pull over so I can put my rocker on the porch with you. After 12+ years, still the first thing I want to do when arriving at a hotel or back home is call my Mom to let her know where I am and that I made it there safely.
