Oh Di as if you need your mind to go there ! ! In your pocket tomorrow . Iris , congratulations on getting the staples out .
-
In your pocket, Di. Mazel tov, Iris. First time I ever went to the Public was my first semester of freshman year at Brooklyn College, 1967. My English 1.1 prof told us excitedly about this groundbreaking musical that had just opened there—and gave us all comps. The musical? The original version of “Hair!” I still have that cast album on vinyl. It was rawer and at the same time more innocent than the B’way version—not the least bit slick or commercial.

seeing my way out of Crazy Town traffic jam. On page 3 of hopefully 5. After this it looks like I will have one more discussion board and journal entry for class and then I am done
-
di, dang but sure hate those weekend waits, hang in till your test
Sandy, funny but one of my profs at fit suggested hair at the public, geez that would have been 1968 or so, never went as i was a poverty student at the time
Slightly gassy and such but stuffing face with fruit this morning
-
Iris, so glad you got the staples out!
Di, in your pocket.
Lucy, thanks for the snapshots of cuteness.
Molly, thinking of you and your precious boy.
Sandy, Xmas in midtown is fun, as you know, but the crowding and gridlock will be especially tough this year because of the traffic issues involving Trump tower, which you also know. Let me know if you get out to Barclays--it's a 10-minute walk from where I live. At the least, I can point you to nabe food joints that will be far more satisfying than the overpriced stuff you can get at Barclays.
Me: insurance shopping and trying to organize T'giving with mum (mild dementia as well as more serious medical issues) and one of my sisters. And, oh yeah, work.
Love to all crazies, including (and maybe especially) those who are quiet.

The exit to CT is much closer for me. Page five of my final paper is in sight and around the corner!!!!!! First stop when I am done is the nearest bar in CT!!!!

Such a thoughtful,person

Yes she is

M0mmy , I don't know how you keep up with school like you do .
-
I see my derm for my 6-mo followup on Mon. and I’m gonna beg her to put off any mole biopsies (especially facial) until after the Bar Show. I’m being paranoid, I know. The other night I noticed my R nipple is starting to shrink a bit and is sort of hard. Hoping it, too, like the areola, is just radiation fibrosis. Wouldn’t be surprised if my derm has me start using the steroid ointment on it, too. I have my followup mammo & BS appt. Dec. 13 (and have a radio concert to do that night).
-
Molly, sometimes I wonder too.
-
I also applaud anyone who works and goes to school also
I remember those days, course it was worth it in the end

Crazytowners . . . It's been almost two years since I had three intense weeks of hotflashes where I didn't get any sleep. I guess that was my transition into menopause. I was out of town on a lovely trip, so I didn't really realize what was happening to me... except that for a few minutes I thought how odd that it was 40 degrees in spring (it was actually Christmas). Since then, I've had all 10 warning signs of dementia! I started estrogen and progesterone bioidenticals which helped me stop stuttering and find words better, but then I had to stop a few months later when breast cancer was found (I had tried bioidenticals five years before and had fibroids grow, so that's probably where the cancer started?). Since then I spent a year getting cured for sleep apnea. I also discovered GABA which CURED the fog and seemed to stop the hot flashes. Hallelujia. But I am still a hot mess of forgetfulness. Bouncing and forgetting to make payments, missed important meetings, I find my car by wandering through parking lots. Two days ago someone was talking to me and I just didn't understand what they were saying. Maybe the exemestane makes it worse? I have a doctor appointment next week. I was hoping to retire in a few months or a year, instead it looks like I may get FIRED. Wow. It's all too much. Also, anyone else having their knees go weak when they exercise? It started a week after I began using the exemestane. I did make an appointment with the doc for Wednesday. I'm going to suggest BP medicine, my aunt is in an Alzheimer's study and she said that her high BP can actually cause some of the symptoms. I've been under a lot of stress for a long time... and I have that "white coat BP" that can really soar. You guys have had great advice so who knows maybe someone will have had similar symptoms and figured it out somehow. Like I did find the GABA. Thank God for that little boost. And I did get a dental appliance for the apne. I's a miracle to sleep well again. Maybe it's just going to take time for my brain to heal from lack of oxygen at night and lack of sleep from the hot flashes.

Hi Eggroll, I've been having all sorts of issues after chemo sent me into menopause. Because of my memory issues... general impaired cognitive problems... I've been referred to a neurologist for evaluation. I've forgotten to make payments, forgotten entire conversations, can't find words or remember friends names (people I have known for many years). So I guess I'm in the middle of it with you.
Molly and Mommy, You are superheroes!
I'm having Thanksgiving at my house. My household, plus my brother-in-law, mother-in-law and any of my older boys' friends who don't have a place to go. But, when I asked my OWN mother, she passed because she had already told my aunt that she would go there. What the F? Oh, well... that's my crazy mom. If I'm having a hard time understanding it, my kids will have an even more difficult time.
Lucy, I know you love the idea of American Thanksgiving. It really is quite lovely. My signature side dish is yams with a praline crunch topping. To make things easier on me, I have each of my boys help by making one side dish: dressing, cranberries or the yams.
Tomboy, I'm happy you are going to see Beppy. Let me know when you're going!
-
Used up all of my own personal CrazyTown Greebles on wrestling with my computer networking class, but still following the forum. My sympathies to those who went through chemo! (My dad, a cancer survivor himself, asked if I didn't think I was overtreating my own cancer. I got all floffty and said "What, I'm supposed to wait until it becomes invasive?" He hasn't asked since.)
But I"m now having this wistful daydream of a Thanksgiving dinner with the lovely ladies (and a few gentlemen) whom I've met in CrazyTown and elsewhere here. I'll bring the creamed onions! A taste test between savory and candied yams--praline crunch sounds an interesting variation! All the mashed potatoes and gravy I can eat. Turkey soup and sandwiches the next day....mmmmm!
-
QMC , I'm in ! Eggroll , please contact your MO . You sound like I was on Anastrozole . I was terrified I had Alzheimers . I am better on exemestane . Very scary stuff . Tomboy , did you get to see Beppy ? I was sick all week and Wyatt's in really bad shape .
-
Eggroll, have you had a full blood panel done? My mother had some of those symptoms when she was anemic.
Sandy, I have a follow up at the dermatologist, too, next week. You have my sympathies on that area of CrazyTown. Which station is doing the radio concert?
Molly, hoping you and Wyatt feel better.
I'm doing a big project at home. I bought a scanner with an document feeder, and I'm working on scanning paperwork to digital files. Ever since my diagnosis, the amount of paperwork in my house has just exploded, what with doctor's bills and insurance statements, etc. And there was plenty of paper around before that. I'm tired of having boxes of files taking up space, so I'm scanning anything I don't need the original of. So far I'm about 3/4 of the way through the biggest box.

Molly: so what are you bringing to the virtual Thanksgiving? other than an appetite, I mean. I've always thought that part of the fun of Thanksgiving was not just the food and all the trimmings, but the 'get-together' aspects. Tumultuous, sure, but fun if done right. Or at least exciting. (I bemused my father-in-law one year by saying "It went well--no one went to the emergency room and everyone left with the parties with whom they arrived." I was teasing. Mostly.)
Eggroll: please do keep us posted on how you're doing? I can't speak to the exemestane, or other issues, but tamoxifen left me in enough of a haze that I don't wanna get any of the more intensive shiznitz.
-
My contribution to virtual Thanksgiving will of course be turkey soup the day after!!! and I might even throw in some matzoh balls! :-) Though I do also do an excellent roast butternut squash soup...which I like to serve as an appetizer before sitting down to dinner on Thanksgiving day..
Molly, hope Wyatt is doing better...
(((eggroll)).
Cubby, I am impressed! I should be organizing paperwork as well...
Still not sleeping well. Tonight may be an early night...

Thanks guys, great inputs! Glad I'm not alone, especially PoppyK. I hope things get better upstairs for all of us involved. As for this virtual dinner, in case I'm invited, I would like to bring my favorite green bean casserole... even if someone else is bringing it. I need some leftovers to take home. Boy do I love that stuff with mashed potatoes and stuffing!
-
Octogirl: OMG, turkey soup the next day. You are so on with that, even if you skip the matzo balls. Will send you a night's worth of sleep for a day's worth of leftovers. Though butternut squash soup is always welcome.
Eggroll; of course you're invited! and yes, bring your own personal green bean casserole--do tell, what's in yours? So what if someone else brings their version? It's an infinitely expandable table. We will all sample all versions of all dishes, and compare notes in lovingkindness. And all go home with at least a week's worth of leftovers, and a year's worth of memories.
-
haha, green bean casserole has never been a tradition in my family, so I have no version to offer....but I am happy to taste them all, even if only in my dreams...

I love a "Day After" sandwich. French or Italian loaf, turkey, stuffing and gravy, heated...then cool cranberry sauce added...yummy!
I have also had Alzheimer's type symptoms with both tamoxifen and now Arimidex. It really is scary sometimes.
-
Cubbie, it’s WDCB, 90.9 FM (based at College of DuPage)—it’s the annual holiday concert for Lilli Kuzma’s “Folk Festival” show. Tues. 12/13, 6 pm.
-
well my contribution to our virtual, dinner has got to be my mom's apple crumb pie. We are pa dutch and no one has more pies in there life than the mennomites!
Walking is continues to improves
-
Count me in for our Thanksgiving in Crazy Town. I'll bring my homemade dinner rolls, that EVERYONE says are the very best they've ever had. (2 secret ingredients: butter and honey) I'll bring some Irish butter and a couple of my homemade jams. After the apple pie we can all sit out on the CT porch and sip our favorite hot drinks with Ativan sprinkles. And if this were a perfect world, Beppy would be with us.
Happy Sunday! Jan
-
ChiSandy: jots down the time and date
ProudtoSpin: never enough pie! They (and you) have so got that right.
RobinLK: definitely 'leftover' sandwiches the next day, in addition to the soup.
JAN: sorry, we posted at the same time. How could I have forgotten hot drinks with Ativan sprinkles? and out on the porch yet. But those rolls do sound delicions; I expect the honey adds a depth of flavor garden-variety granulated sugar can't match.
