Hi there Sweety pie! Wonderful picture Molly! Give her extra hugs for me!
-
Molly ..What a beautiful photo. !! Thank you your reply , I do have questions ...will pm you soon ...
Robin ..Thanks ..Yes I have found hystersisters ..been reading there for the last couple of weeks , and I do think its wonderful too .I haven't actually joined yet ...I just wish I was on the other side of the surgery ..The 17th can't come quick enough for me. !! Funny , it was this wonderful site that lead me to find hystersisters. ☺
Shorfi ..I'm glad they have found out about your gallbladder ..I had mine removed years ago ..best thing I ever did. !!I had 2 massive gallstones , which ( for some unknown reason ) I've kept all these years ..maybe I thought it'd be fun to bring it out at a party or something ?!? 😵
Poppy ..so glad you don't have a headache ..3 hours of sleep is awful 🙁
Ducky ..Grayson is beautiful. ☺
Beppy ..always thinking of you ..sending love ..
-
I feel a bit uncomfortable intruding here - I know that you are a tight-knit community who care deeply about one another and Beppy. I love Beppy too and have communicated with her a bit outside of the forums. She is such a kind, generous woman showering her friends with love!
Her husband has just texted me and offered that I may share. Previously, he had texted that she sleeps about 22 hours a day. He and his daughter seem to be providing most of her care, feeding her and assisting with movement. they are waiting for the effects of her treatment to reach its maximum. Here is the text that I just received in its entirety:
"She's in and out. Still a couple days until radiation peaks. We're hoping to see her start to recover within the next couple of weeks. It's OK to let her other friends know."
I wanted to follow her husband's suggestion and share what he has communicated with me here. Beppy is a strong woman. I love her and keep her in my prayers. I know that she has a special relationship with all of you. I am sorry for any more worry that this message might spark. Your thoughts of love and healing are powerful...
-
Daisy ..thank you so much for your post .Everyone misses and loves her , and I pray she recovers quickly ...
-
Daisy, thank you so much. I still text her occasionally to just let her know she is loved.
-
Thanks, Daisy. Continuing to pray for & send healing energy to Beppy. Molly, Wyatt is a sweetly beautiful boy whose soul shines through in every photo.
Shorfi, glad it’s just your gallbladder! My two cholecystitis attacks were 6 years apart. The first time, my ultrasound was normal, but the HIDA scan showed inflammation. I was not a candidate for surgery, as I was as heavy as I am now and cholecystectomy was still very major surgery: a tedious open procedure requiring delving deep beneath layers of abdominal fat (a distasteful experience for the surgeon) and might have been too dangerous to keep a patient under general anesthesia for that long. It required several days in-hospital, a large incision with many sutures, and a long recovery (measured in weeks).
After my second attack (identical in nature & intensity as the first, and both attacks were triggered by a high-fat meal), the ultrasound showed “many small stones too numerous to count.” By then, laparascopic cholecystectomy was the gold standard: the patient was given propofol, four small holes were made and the gallbladder was located, cut and removed remotely by scopes inserted right through the abdomen; and there were no sutures, just band-aids. Hospitalization was a "23-hour admit” (today it’s sometimes fully same-day with no overnight stay). I went out to our anniversary dinner four days later.
I do not miss my gallbladder at all!
-
Aww, thank you Sandy. He's my heart and soul.
-
daisylover thank you so much for updating. Much love to Beppy. If we could harness all the love for her that is here on this forum....she is a special person
-
Thank you, Daisylover! Sending love, Beppy. We all miss you so much!
We missed you too, Shorfi, glad to see you back and yay for having a diagnosis!
Molly, adorable pic!. Love Wyatt's smile.
Lucy, just wanted you to know I booked my airfare for Brisbane for the end of May (on way to Papa New Guinea). Will email you details later. Meanwhile I am almost halfway there (Hawaii) polishing up my scuba skills. Saw a lot of cool stuff underwater today (including two octopuses!) and am definitely in my happy place.
xoxox to all

Molly, that's a great picture of Wyatt!
Shorfi, I'm glad to hear it's just gallstones. I'm hoping for a quick and easy procedure for you.
Daisylover, thank you for the update. I hope Beppy's doing a lot of healing and is resting comfortably. Maybe even having some good dreams.
Octo, I'm always glad to hear you are out diving. There's something uplifting about seeing people pursuing their passions after treatment.
-
Trump just told an MSNBC reporter that he did well because he held back on mentioning Bill’s infidelities. If he threatens to do that, Hillary needs to invite Ivana and Marla to the next debate.
-
octofish!! Lol, that's how I picture you underwater octogirl. How cool you saw octopus! Enjoy your stay in Hawaii.

I am definitely in the Crazy Town Waiting Room tonight. I'm having shortness of breath, weakness and fatigue and am waiting for results of an echocardiogram. I know there are other things besides a heart problem that could cause shortness of breath. . . please, please let it be something else.
I thought it was the anastrozole. Maybe it is, but the oncologist was skeptical of that idea. So we are ruling out possible causes. Chest x-ray and blood work didn't show anything wrong. Radiation ended almost six weeks ago. I was tired afterward and had started to get a bit of energy back, then - poof! I'm doing nothing and feeling utterly exhausted. So discouraging.
I can't even say, "Please send chocolate" because since taking the medication I've got a bad case of GERD. (That could also cause shortness of breath, I've been told.)
Is there an etiquette of posting? I feel like I'm interrupting a conversation. Is that weird?
-
Welcometo CT, Blinkie. You are definitely in the Crazy Town waiting room. Pull up a chair and I will get you some hot chocolate with Ativan sprinkles.
-
Blinkie, since chocolate can aggravate GERD, here’s a cherry-vanilla milkshake with a Xanax-Zantac chaser.
-
Well, now, you two (Molly50 & ChiSandy) have already cheered me up a bit.
Had to look up what Ativan is - thought it was a character from Doctor Who. haha. & "Xanax/Zantac chaser" - excellent. They should market that.
-
Blinkey ..Welcome to Crazy Town. !!
Sandy ..That milkshake and chaser is exactly what I need too. !!!
-
Well I am stuck in CT town again. Got way too much going on again
-
I laughed out loud when I read the opening post on this thread about the chocolate chip cookie. Too funny! I have been in crazy town for about a month now. Ready to,leave! Have had two CT scans that say suspicious for liver mets. Actually had an ER doctor tell me I had liver mets after an ER visit for chest pain shortly after my BMX and they did chest ct to check for PE. He says well, you don't have a PE, but we did find a 3 centimeter lesion on your liver that is most likely a distant metastasis. What??!? I had DCIS!! Another CT scan a week later says suspicious for liver mets. Then a Pet scan that onc said was "basically normal." What the hell does "basically" mean? Now he wants MRI but have to wait until expanders are out, which will be awhile. Sooooo riding the train. Can't imagine I would have mets but stranger things have happened. Needless to say I am seeking second opinion.
I did have a mental breakdown over the phone with the onc staff when they told me I would have to wait 5 days for PET results. I Started crying like a crazy person and said well then admit me to your psych ward till then because I won't make it that long! Lady says, ma'am, do you have some anxiety medication you can take? I said yes, but they don't make a pill big enough for this hell! Got my results the next day

Bluebird, who wouldn't be crazy with all that!!
-
Blinkie and Bluebirdgirl: welcome to CrazyTown.
Don't worry, there's no particular etiquette for posting and no qualifications for admittance, other than getting sucked down the rabbit hole that affects so many (breast) cancer patients' psychologically. And no pill's big enough for our worst days! Liver mets when you had DCIS? honestly!
Oh, and I'll argue that CrazyTown chocolate doesn't aggravate GERD, though the cherry-vanilla milkshake with Dr. Who characters sprinkled atop sounds lovely!

back in crazy town, after spending summer with a ton of docs and tests after being told I had a tumor on my w spine, nuero surgeon yesterday gave ,e results of the tumor board, now they say it is Ms? So off to new set of docs and testing
Do not get it
-
Hey, y'all, I just finished catching up for the past few days. I've been just taking my antibiotic, prednisolone, and cough medicine pills, so I feel some better. I had to wait two days for antibiotics, because Walmart ran out of them. I was shocked that could happen.
Iris MS? Do they know this for sure, or are they ruling out all else first? My husband, when he got Transverse Myelitis, had to go through all sorts of tests, including a spinal tap. They were thinking MS, possibly, too. I hope all the new stuff they put you through shows everything is A-okay.
Molly, what a handsome, bright eyed child you have.
Gma, I love your beautiful pictures. Sometimes the world is so beautiful, it makes you cry. Also, I like to think about God in His HUGE rocking chair.
Bluebird, I had to laugh at how you got that nurse's attention and got your results early.
Blinkie, I am praying for good results for you.
My sister, Kathy, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday. She couldn't get her breath, and could only breathe while bent over. They gave her lasix, nitroglycerin, and put her on oxygen. They did the echocardiogram and said she has some aortic valve thing, and fluid. They are going to transfer her to another hospital for the surgery. She is pretty scared. She said she was having some shortness of breath for a few weeks, but figured it was something else. She has been a smoker since she was a teenager, and I think that is catching up with her now. They did scans of her lungs and said they were clear. She is going to have to give up the smokes this time for good. I quit smoking a long time ago, the year after I got married. I used to hang out at the health food store, and was a smoker. Kind of stupid to hang out in a place like that, and then go out to my car and light up. I would sit there, and see those posters saying smoking is glamorous, with a picture of a picture of an older lady smoking and she was all wrinkled and old before her time. There was another poster with a man looking as bad as her, but I don't remember what the caption was on that one. Those and the pictures of nasty lungs from smoking made me want to quit.
I have my six month scans on Monday the 3rd. Then to see my MO that afternoon. I was okay until yesterday when in the morning, the scan department called to remind me of my appt., then a couple of hours later, the MO's office called to remind me. Then that stuff got real. I try to not get so worked up, but I can't help it. I am still laying off the caffeine, so the jitters and shakiness are gone. I kind of like the decaf pour over coffee I now drink. It doesn't send me over the moon like the other stuff.
Tomboy and Daisy, thanks a whole lot for the updates on Beppy. I have been praying for her. I love the picture of her as a little girl. So cute.
God bless you all, Lisa
-
lisa, at the start of all this, the nuerologist said my stuff presented as textbook ms but the after more testing they decided it was a tumor and we started down that road. I have appts with 2 new docs next week to get opinions and stuff. They have not done a spinal tap as yet If it wasn't for the fact that this new stuff came from a tumor board of Columbia Presbyterian docs, i would be more crazed. I heard about your husbands disease but do not know anything about it, guess it is similar in some Way?
Course today my back hurts big time, stress being a key factor
-
((((Iris))))) Lisa, in your pocket for your scans. Thank you for the comments on my beautiful boy (young man). He is definitely a good looking and very bright eyed guy. He had such a rough night last night. I just felt so helpless and sad for him.
-
Oh ladies - I kinda caught up with you. Its the week for pain I guess. I overdid this weekend and with the weather changes I hurt and am in a pissy mood. Crying all the time and doing the emotional eating out of control thing... Trying to get back on track.. My doc appt to talk about doing US instead of Mammogram has been delayed another 3 weeks - not until November now. I haven't had a mammogram since the reconstruction 21 months ago. Guess it's time for another sunrise to calm us all:
-
Well I am on the last piece of my craft project. It is a big piece.
-
love the sunrise, a bit of beauty is always relaxing, thanks
-
proud, sending hugs. That diagnostic merry-go-round must be really frustrating. Thinking of you today.
Octogirl
