Exercise and well being during chemo and radiation

Fighting with gym-related documentation. Not what you'd call the easiest way to show participation in an exercise plan.

12/2: Stretch + Fitbit + Zumba = 6.98 miles
12/3: Stretch + Fitbit + Zumba = 7.13 miles
12/4: Stretch + Fitbit = 1.59 miles
12/5: Stretch + Fitbit + T = 5.05 miles
12/6: Stretch + Fitbit + T = 3.0 miles -
Show them your ripped abs, ksusan! That should proVe you participate!
1 hr stair master, lots of upper body machines at 10 lbs trying to get my stretch on. Now I'm WONDERING if my weird under jaw neck pain is in fact somehow muscular. Gawwwwwwwwd! Cancer blows.
-
If by "ripped" you mean "like a bowl full of jelly," sure, that works.
-
Hey, I can feel my ab muscles under the jelly. Not to get rid of the jelly....
-
I've seen your pix, ksusan, and more importantly your dead bugs. No modesty necessary!
T-that's just gotta be jelly, cause jam don't shake like that! (Leer)

I don't have exercise to report but while at the surgical center today i weighed myself for the first time in forever. At my heaviest chemo weight I was up 13 pounds from what I used to weigh (2 foot surgeries in the year leading up to cancer share the blame w chemo). I am now only up 4! I can only credit it on diet changes since I am terrible at working out. I eat very little meat & since being on tamoxifen my appetite is much less. Now I want to heal up from surgery & start getting back to weight training.
-
I'll have numbers to post tomorrow. How's it going for everyone?
-
I'm annoyed with myself that I never can seem to spend more than an hour and a half working out, because I feel the need to come home to be with the family. So...pretty much business as usual lol. Befor cancer, I was a fitness freak. After, my goal has been to never let gym time interfere with family time, and moreover, to not get twitchy when I perceive a lack of excercise. Only moderately successful so far at that. Don't really feel ready to run 30 miles on Jan 9. We shall see!
How is everyone else holding up? Eileen, you post some monster step counts! Good work!
Hi ksusan!

Littleblue, doing good here, heading out for a bike ride in a few. Been a bit of a slacker this past week, but the weather has been sucky for bike riding. Too cold
-
2,937 cycling miles, so if all goes well, I should hit the 3,000 mile goal I set for myself by the end of the year. Also 109,170 feet of climbing this year so far! Had a bunch of personal records today, so think I'm overcoming some of the post chemo side effects
-
Go, T!
-
Good work T!
2 hrs stairmaster level 7, 100 crunches.
-
Two hours stairmaster, jeez!
-

After a time of less activity as I settled into rads and work got crazy busy (not that that is a good excuse) I am back to walking daily. No amazing numbers to report, but I am walking daily. Two miles today. Planning to do a longer hike tomorrow. Hope all have a peaceful and restful holiday!

Good work, Octo and all!
So ok, apparently I can't just eat one cookie, I have to eat EVERY cookie at my parents house. No serious excercise, but went cross country skiing, sledding ( flopping on my chest on my sled with no boobs equals dumb idea, riding it down the hill over jumps even more so lol) puppy walking and baking dozens of cookies. My parents had 40 elk get into their haystack, so spent some time fixing fence. It was cute, this morning there was a herd of turkeys cuddled up with a doe under a pine tree in their yard. Sometimes it's nice to go home and forget this scary adult world lol. Now, if every person I know including all of you ladies would be blessed with continual good health, life would be perfect!
-
Okay, let's eat that last handful of cookies and drag our asses out for a walk!
-
I froze a bunch of the cookies I got for Christmas...mostly because hubby was driving me crazy eating them all! And if they don't freeze well, that will be just less temptation. However, it was pretty hilarious that he and I got each other the exact same chocolate covered cherries in out stockings. and I am Jewish, I shouldn't even have a stocking..(but if hubby wants to hang one and put chocolate covered cherries in it, who am I to argue?...)
I sort of got off my ass today; walked another two miles. It was damned cold outside. Walked fast :-)

9.9 miles left to hit my goal of 3,000 miles riding this year! Beautiful ride today, even with it being a little cold for us southern Californians.
-
1.5 hrs cardio, range of motion excercises, weights...more cookies.
-
What's the point without the cookies?
-
pre cancer-extremely disciplined life style. Post cancer-COOKIES!!!
-
yes, must have cookies! And hummingbird cake from Urban Plates! Has these chunks of pineapple in it, absolutely delicious
-
30 minutes swimming yesterday. 60 minute of cardio and weight lifting today. SEND ME YOUR COOKIES!
-
