Well I must say that the article was very unclear about how one is supposed to go about excluding methionine from their diet, since it is one of the amino acids and generally tied up with the others. Also, it's one that you need for your body to detox itself and I am wondering if it has anything to do with that MTHFR genetic mutation that I keep hearing about that seems to be very common among cancer patients. One thing that I've read is that on a cancer diet you want to make sure you get your protein, but don't overdo it b/c you don't want to get too much methionine or glutamine--glutamine will feed the tumor almost as effectively as sugar, but you need it. Very confusing really.

Anyway, if you have that gene mutation, and I know very little about this really, you take methyl B-!2 and methyl folate instead of the ones that come in your vitamin pill. I had to special order mine and then I take a B-vit that is called B-minus from Seeking Health, as they leave out the folate and B-12. If you have this gene mutation, your body can't use the regular B-12 and folic acid and many of us cancer patients do and if you have this mutation, your body has an impaired or non-existent ability to clean itself out.
