Worried results taken to long

hi found a lump had a mamagram ,then a scan and then a biopsy ,when back a week after and was told they wanted to do a core biopsy ,was told I would be seen in a week ( which should be tomorrow ) had a voice message saying results won't be back for another week and another appointment made for a week wed ,I can't wait it's making me ill ,why would I have a biopsy after I had one ,no one at hospital told me why they wanted to do a core biopsy .surly a week should be long enough for results ..please any help right now

What type of biopsy was the first one...fine needle..I think sometimes they need more tissue to provide conclusive results. Or the first one was a core, maybe they did not get enough samples. I know my radiologist during the biopsy usually said he takes 4 but with me he did 7 to make sure there was enough tissue to examine. I have no idea what the other week is for, I do know how hard the waiting is. Try to keep busy and stay positive. You never knw what is going on behind the scenes that could have nothing to do with your results. Keep us posted.
