Hi,
I know that I need to lose approximately 40 pounds to reach my ideal weight. I was wondering what dietary changes people have made since their diagnosis? I take a brisk 30 min. walk daily and I am starting a daily workout with the total gym but that will be on hold once I have surgery.
I take a salad made of romaine, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, grilled boneless skinless chicken breast, and a little bit of grated cheese and 2 Tbs of lite poppyseed dressing to work M-F. I also take some type of fruit such as grapes, and air popped popcorn for a snack. Dinner consists of some type of fish (baked) and a vegetable.

Once hormone therapy starts I'm afraid of where my weight will go! (My luck is up :( !)

    HI

After I had my son I was 210 pounds (I'm 5 foot 6.5 inches) I now weight between 143 to 146. ( I have kept the weight off over 8 years) began my weight loss journey with wright watchers I found it easier than any other progrm. Excerise and lots of water are important.

I was diagnosed on June 15th with DCIS my surgery is Tuesday. When were you dx what is your treatment plan?

    Hope this helps ☺

    Hi Lori,
I was diagnosed on June 4th. My path report gives a Nottingham score of 3 out of 6 but I am so nervous about lymph node involvement. My plan is for lumpectomy on July 23rd with radiation and hormone therapy.

I do like WW but I hate the meetings :(

    HI 123JustMe,

In addition to the support and recommendations you're sure to receive here, you may also be interested in checking out the main Breastcancer.org site's pages on Heathy Eating During Treatment, Eating to Lose Weight After Treatment, and the section on Exercise.

    We hope this helps!
