one brain mets....can I be positive?

I had stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer. About two months ago started to see weird flash lights (the one and only symptom). Was sent to brain MRI yesterday, and was told I had one brain mets 1.x cm today.

Surgeon seems to recommend surgery to remove the whole tumor, adding some radiation.

Just can't believe it, I am feeling perfectly fine, eating drinking exercising .,.. Can I still have hope for my life? Will I have a "future".

I do not have experience with brain mets, but would go with your doctor's recommendation and assume the best until proven otherwise.

hi hahaha...I am not sure what you are asking but I am sure you are in shock and disbelief of any diagnosis especially since it is not fair to get sucker punched again when you are doing so much to llive a healthy life and are so young! Cancer just does not play fair.

I am reaching out in this forum also because I had a bilateral mastectemy nearly 4 years ago and found a lot of strength here. Now, I have been having migraine headaches for months and at my husbands instance went back to the doctor again for the fourth time. This new doctor ordered a CT scan and she called me after the long July 4th weekend and told me they found an irregular shaped shadow near the frontal and temporal lobe. they are doing an MRI with and without dye on Sat. Is this how brain mets are found?

    I am scared

    Hahaha-

We want to welcome you to our community here at BCO. We're so sorry for what brings you here, but we're glad you've found us, and hope you find the support you need!

We see that you've already found our brains mets thread, and have posted there. You'll find so much support and advice there, but we want to add, that you should absolutely stay hopeful! Your doctor seems to have given you a positive prognosis, and with treatment, there's no reason you won't go on to live many, many more years.

We're thinking of you, and look forward to seeing you on the boards!
