I need advice on a bra after Double Mastectomy!

I was diagnosed in May with DCIS, noninvasive. I chose to have a DM with Direct to Implant reconstruction using silicone implants.I chose that because I didn't want to use expanders and then another surgery to switch to implant.

It has been 2 weeks since surgery. I'll spare all the details, but I was a large B, small C before (I am petite) and quite happy with it and wanted stay around the same size. Anyway......my surgeon told me I didn't need to wear a bra for the first 2 week, so just wore a cami over the bandages. Now.....I am noticing that my implants seem to be mostly under my arm pits and sit sort of low. They seem very small, more like an A cup!

My PS told me at my 2 week check up to start massaging them and moving them up and in as much as I can. What I want to know, is there any type of special bra that I can wear that will lift and push them together while it's healing. I have sports bras but they just sort of squish me down.

Anyone have any suggestions on what might help me?

Thank you in advance!

    Hi Katnip,
I also had one step implants with roughly the same size.did your ps use alloderm or similar tissue matrix to create an internal sling/bra? The alloderm pretty much kept my implants in place, though they did drop a bit over time. No massage recommended and I just wore a stretchy Coobie bra. I still wear a full B, which is what I wanted, and am very pleased. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, my PS used Allodetm to make a sling. But I think I should have been wearing some type of bra or something like a coobie from the beginning. I think from laying propped up some on my back with nothing to support them is what caused them to travel to my armpit. I am able to move the implants and push them up, but they don't stay that way. I need some type of bra that will hold them where I want them.
