Thank you for posting. I found this article embedded in the last link http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/161861.php?sr

The article is from 2009 so who knows and I haven't looked for any updates on it but I thought that I would attach it here anyway, maybe someone else knows what going on with it now.

cp...very, very interesting! I'm now wondering if the DH is less likely to get cancer because he has a genetic defect in fatty acid oxidation.....I can appreciate and understand why this potential treatment was first developed as an anti cholesterol "medication" in mind....presently, statins target the metabolic pathway that creates energy in the mitochondria, which on occasion, causes rabdomylosis. Rabdomylosis occurs because the mitochondria cannot work effectively because the statin interferes with the proper synthesis of fat in the cells...so....I'm assuming the mechanisms are similar. Likewise, while visiting researchers at Sloan Kettering, they told me that there is a lot of attention being given to the "talking" between cancer and healthy cells. Perhaps that interdependence and this area of research will fold into one another....I'm excited thinking about these discoveries...The mechanics of how cells behave is fascinating!

music....your article discusses the affect the protein energy cycle has on the cell. To thrive, a cell creates energy and uses energy from three distinct entities....carbohydrates, fat, and/ or proteins. I can understand the need to disrupt one of these cells' energy cycles.....
