I'm currently waiting to see a breast surgeon for a second opinion, in the mean time I have so many questions maybe someone here will be able to help

back info:

I have two palpable lumps in my left breast, near each other one is long and "ridge like" the other is hard unmovable oval/round, my nipple is retracting when laying down but comes back out almost completely when sitting.

Had a mamo in January for lump in right breast, everything was good

had an ultrasound of left breast, just the lumps not nipple area, lumps where undetectable even though they are palpable by everyone, radiologist was an idiot and said completely untrue and ridiculous things to me including a comment about my age I'm 34 so that somehow makes me less of a concern. because of my complete lack of faith in this radiologist I have pushed to see a breast surgeon and it is scheduled for July 6th.

so questions:(there are more questions but I swear my mind went blank the moment I started typing)

any experience with palpable lumps not seen on ultrasound being cancer?

retracting nipple info/experience?

if this were your body what would ask from a surgeon, expect to be done in a second opinion/look?

any other info to share?

thanks

Hi Jecka. I found my tumor myself and was sent for a diagnostic ultrasound. The radiologist said that she couldn't really see anything concerning. There was a vague indication of something, but, she was not concerned. They also did a mammogram and nothing showed up on that. Since I found it and was concerned she ordered a needle biopsy. The Dr that did the biopsy said he fully expected the result to come back benign. Well, it wasn't. I was diagnosed with DCIS and opted for a BMX since my grandmother passed from bone mets. After the BMX, the pathology report came back with IDC as well. You know your body better than anyone and are doing the right thing seeing another Dr. There are a lot of great women here that will chime in to answer your questions. I know how distressing this can be, but, if needed, this forum is a wonderful place for information, support and comfort. Hopefully this is nothing, but, keep us posted. Take care.

thanks summersun, the waiting sucks as I'm sure you know, I was not that stressed going into the ultrasound but ended up sitting in the parking lot afterwards crying because the radiologist was not helpful and told me things that I know are not correct so how am I to trust someone who clearly doesn't know anything about bc. So now I feel like not only do I have to worry about "the aliens" in my breast, but that I'm going to have to fight to get answers, it's just so stressful
