In the past week my daughter who is 23 had her annual exam and the DR. felt a lump so had her go in for an ultrasound and now a core biopsy. Apparently hers is 2 cm. I just recently had a mammogram and it came back with concerns so they sent me in for an ultrasound and then a core biopsy. Mine is 4 cm. I just had mine today and will have the results by this Wednesday, but my daughter won't be getting her core (ultrasound guided) biopsy until July 2nd. I am feeling a double amount of worry as I can't even imagine what I would do if my daughter's biopsy came back positive. I just feel at a loss and and so extremely scared. How could this be happening and to both of us at the same time?! I really don't know anything about breast cancer and feel so afraid and confused. Please help if you have any advice as I'm just so unsure and don't feel strong enough to handle it if one or both of is diagnosed with BC.

Until you have all your tests results, we hope that you'll be reassured by the information at the main Breastcancer.org site called What Mammograms Show: Calcifications, Cysts, Fibroadenomas that reinforces that there are many other benign masses, including some that are especially common among young women.
