Zometa and brace

hi everyone,

I had been on zometa twice now. However I realised my teeth had been shifting and I need braces to correct my bite.


I spoke to a orthodontist who said I won't need extractions to have braces. However she isn't sure whether zometa will have any effect on my teeth movement.


Has anyone tried to do braces while on zometa? Wld love to hear from you so that I can know more. Thanks for reading :)

    Have you considered getting a second opinion? I'd try to get a referral to a more experienced orthodontist. Another option: if there is a dental school nearby, you may consider meeting with one of their faculty who offers clinical appointments. My experience is that dentists at the dental schools are more knowledgeable about rare or unusual cases, and they tend to be more aware of the latest research.
