Grade 1 treatments?

Can anyone share their treatments and experience with grade 1 BC?

All I know right now is Grade 1 IDC, approximately 1cm on ultrasound. Axilla nodes clear on ultrasound.

I am only 31.

No pathology back on receptors, etc yet. I am going to get an Oncotype test definitely.

I heard grade 1 doesn't respond well to chemo or radiation, so sometimes it isn't done. Is that true?

Thanks,

Tiffany

I have bilateral Grade 1 tumors. Based on the Oncotype on the left tumor AND clear nodes I don't need chemo. Radiation would be required if you opt for a lumpectomy no matter the grade.

I had a grade 1 tumor, but mine turned out to be 2.8cm (they told me it was 1.5cm). Unfortunately I had 1 lymph node involved and I had LVI (not a good thing). Soooo I ended up doing chemo, rads and now hormonal therapy. I am a year out from diagnosis and hope I never see this beast again.

    Hi Tiffany,
I have grade 1 6 cm IDC in my left breast and saw both the MO and RO this morning. I am still waiting for genetic testing results but I am feeling hopeful. (as long as there are no surprises with the tumor pathology) I should be okay with radiation and lumpectomy. Hope you are able to get a treatment plan in place soon. It really does make the anxiety a little more tolerable.

I think a higher oncotype would trump your grade. Grading pathology can be subjective.
