I've posted before about this topic. For those who read my previous post, I had my surgery June 8th. Everything went well, the surgery took longer than expected (a little over 4 hours vs 2 1/2 -3 ) and they had to make more incisions than previously thought because the breast surgeon had a hard time finding one of the lumps. I have two drains in (one left and one right), which I get out tomorrow (yay!!!) my question this time is for those who've had something similar (lumpectomy with reconstruction on both sides) how soon did you return to work? I'm approved for 3 weeks short term disability with full pay, but I'm feeling guilty like I shouldn't have to take the 3rd week. Everyone around me is saying to take the time off to make sure I'm 100% before I return to work. What are your thoughts? (I'm a project manager at a consumer good company, I don't do a lot of heavy lifting but I do have to carry around a laptop and notebooks and the occasional box)
