I had my first fill 50cc's exactly one week ago. I felt a little bit of pressure for the next few days but by about Sat the pressure has gotten quite more noticable. Is it normal for it to get worse days after the fill was done? Just worried something is wrong with them.

Thanks,

Julie

Julie - sorry you are uncomfortable, how long has it been since your surgery?  Do you know the total fill volume of your TE and how much, if any, you had put in during surgery?  The feeling of intensified pressure may be from spasm in the muscle, were you given any muscle relaxers - Skelaxin, Soma, Valium, or Flexiril?

Hey SpecialK. My bmx was May 19, so right at 4 weeks. I had 50 cc put in at time of surgery and then the first fill of 50cc one week ago. It doesn't feel like spasms??? It is just a constant pressure that has gotten greater the last couple of days. I do see my PS Wed for another fill. I guess I can see what he says and maybe prescribe a relaxer. I dont know I just worry about everything now.

    Thanks for the advise!!

Also it is def worse in the morning. I think I just need to get used to it. These things are going to be with me until next spring...ugh.

Many have found much better relief from the feeling of tightness with the muscle relaxers, particularly Valium.  Ask your PS about it and maybe give it a try.  Also, just a note - you should be the one who determines how big your fills are.  If you are feeling too much tightness after a 50cc fill, ask for a smaller one.  I never did more than 25 cc fills due to skin issues but I never needed pain meds or muscle relaxers.  It took longer to reach the goal but I was more comfortable.  Good luck!

Ok thanks. I guess I was just concerned because the tightness has gotten extrememely more noticable 5 days after the fill as opposed to right after the fill.

I will def discuss my options with my PS at my Wed appoint.

    Thanks again.

Hi there! My expanders have been super tight and uncomfortable since day one but I had them placed after my BMX surgery. It's difficult to sleep and I basically feel like I have an iron band around my chest at all times. My PS told me that sometimes a certain fill amount will put pressure on a nerve and it will change with the next fill. I found that to be true. I'm done with fills now and can honestly say I feel SO much better now. Hang in there
