I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal on May 26th. The doctor inserted a tube to drain fluids and I took care of cleaning the bulb and recording the drainage. Back to the surgeon 1week later for removal of the drain. When it was taken out a flood of fluid came out and the nurse confirmed that the tube had gotten clogged with small blood clots. During the following week I noticed swelling and a hardening in the breast. I could manage the lump but it was painful. Back to the doctor, an effort to aspirated the fluid but it had hardened into a lump. I was told it would reduce and go away in a while. I am now almost a month out from surgery. The lump and swelling have not gone down. In fact, it seems that there is more fluid at the site. Going back again Monday. HELP...has anyone had this happen and do you know of a way to make the swelling go down. I'm miserable, uncomfortable and in pain.
