what questions should I ask breast surgeon

Hi all-

Sad to be joining the club. But determined to fight and move on. I was just dx today. IDC - Nottingham grade 1, ER+, PR+, HER-, Ki67 <5% 2.5mm, lymph nodes via ultrasound negative. I will have my MRI tomorrow followed by another ultrasound to double check anything that looks hinky on the MRI and to double check what I'm dealing with. Then Friday I meet with a surgeon and Monday I meet with another for their Tx ideas. What kind of questions should I ask that maybe you wished you had asked or just anything i need to make sure I know before starting this process. any feedback is welcome

register at the NCCN website and read the professional version (red logo) of the breast cancer guidelines. Also ask the surgeon, if having a lumptecomy, how often s/he needs to repeat the procedure because of close margins. They may not tell you nor know exactly how often it occurs, but you want to find a surgeon who has a reputation of getting good margins. Also make sure they order the OncotypeDX test.
