worried all the time
Hello ladies, I was diagnosed in march. Had surgery, got it all out. Almost done with radiation. I know I'm going to be fine, but I always have this worry in the back of my mind that because I've basically come through this unscathed, I keep thinking I'm going to have some other type of cancer hit me like ton of bricks . Whether it be , ovarian, cervical , uterine, other breast, or some sort of other cancer. I will be getting a full hysterectomy sometime in the next few months just as a precautionary measure. But I just can't shake this worry!!! Anyone else ever feel like this??

Hi Speace,
I think most everyone in here has the same feeling. Every small pain that lasts longer than a few days will scare us thinking the cancer has spread. Life will not be the same unless you are very secure and confident that you have won the battle and everything is in the past. I have come across only a few people in here like this. I guess you have to believe in a higher power and leave everything to him. Nobody knows what the future holds and anyone could be gone in a matter of seconds even if they don't have cancer. Thoughts like these comforts me a little and prevents me from thinking about cancer 24/7. I hope this helps.

Thankyou you are right that we don't know what the future holds, but it's easier said than done to try and just move on and keep positive!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who worries about this too!!

It's early days still. I was a worrier for a whole year after, I couldn't book a holiday before my first check up as to my mind that would be tempting fete and being too cocky as I might not make the holiday so had to have a clear mammo before even booking.
Reading that it sounds quite mad but time is a great healer and now I only go into meltdown before each yearly check up. I've just got my appointment and once again I'm in hyper anxious mode now. What I'm saying is the first year after it was daily, now it takes a month out of my life at check up time so things do get easier the more time passes.
xx

Oh I didn't mean to delete it, only edit it!
It is still very early days so you will worry. The first year after I worried daily, so much so that I wouldn't even book a holiday before my check up incase I couldn't make it. My first check up I went into absolute meltdown, and was told I was fine so off I went and booked that holiday.
It was the same for year 2, couldn't book anything incase it was being too cocky and complacent after the year one check up.
Year 3 check up is coming up, I'm not as bad now, as time is a great healer, so I guess I only go into meltdown one month a year now instead of the whole year
The worry never goes away but it does get an awful lot better. Give yourself time xx

Thankyou and yes that's how I feel !! Like I don't want to look to far ahead and think about fun things. I have a lot to look forward to. My daughter is getting married in Oct 2016. But I just feel like I can't let myself think about having any fun with a dark cloud hanging over me, and I haven't even had any checkups yet! Ugh ! I hope your right and that time will heal all wounds!!!
