I just celebrated my 20 year anniversary 💃 and I want to commemorate the occasion by getting a tattoo on my right arm. I had 4 lymph nodes removed from this arm when I was first diagnosed with introductal carcinoma incitu. Does anyone know if this is safe to do ? I see a trend developing where women are having their mastectomy scars tattooed over. IS it the same as having the arm done?

Congrats on your 20 year anniversary!

Tattooing in the same quadrant where nodes were removed will always have a risk of developing LE,,, what is the % of those who develop LE after tattooing??  I have no idea and I too see lots of tattoos over MX scars these days.  I had planned to do just that, but I developed LE, so I don't want to risk it getting worse.

Hopefully someone who has done a tattoo will chime in with her opinion.
