Anyone doing adjuvant Perjeta?

I had surgery first and am now doing chemo for my Her2 positive breast cancer. I know most neo-adjuvant regimes include Perjeta and that it's not technically approved yet for adjuvant use in non-metastatic settings, but trials are almost there. Anyway, my doctor is able to pull some strings to get me on it adjuvantly, along with Herceptin. Am wondering if any other non-metastatic ladies are doing this as well? I know it's a little controversial since it's not technically approved yet.

My insurance company didn't have any problems approving Perjeta for me. I did Taxol, Perjeta and Herceptin. The Perjeta didn't seem to cause any additional SE other than diarrhea a few times.

I had the same experience as mommato3. Some mild skin issues (small sores inside ears) and tinnitus, but pretty manageable

Thanks for the info, Mommato3 and Tinkerbells! I start my combo (Taxol, Herceptin, Perjeta) in July...hoping it's not too bad! :)

Hello to all-  my first board entry :)  I am trying to make a decision regarding "treatment" or "no treatment"- need help!  Because of the little phrase "prominent lymphovascular invasion" in my path report, and the fact that I am Her2+,  2 oncologists would like for me to have at least the Herceptin- one of them would like to add an "Aromataste inhibitor," and Taxol .I am overall NOT a fan of any pharmaceuticals which is why I opted for the "radical" surgery (mastectomy) rather than a lumpectomy with treatment.  I consulted a naturopathic/oncologist prior to my surgery who placed me on Modified Citrus Pectin to prevent mets. Also,  I have a sister who is a 23 year breast cancer survivor, having had only a mastectomy with no radiation or chemo.  My naturopathic/onc told me that if I have the Herceptin, that she could place me on supplements that would aid with any possible cardiac side effects.  I am leaning towards wanting to hit this cancer with prayer, improved nutrition (alkaline, high fiber diet) and better exercise, but I also want to make a wise decision to have MANY years with future grandchildren. I am nearly 63- but a "young" 63.  Also, I am a RN of 36 years.   My node was negative- BRCA -, 3 cm clean margins-  I feel great and have already implemented the improved diet and exercise and am awaiting a f/u appt. with my naturopathic/onc. for her "weigh-in."  My surgeon has at 3 appts. post-op told me that he feels I do not need ANY treatment.  Any thoughts?
