My wife is weakly positive on PR and negative in the other two areas.  Her BS and MO are treating cancer as if she's trip negative.  My question is...can my wife receive hormonal/targeted therapy even though she's not a true triple negative?

Thank you and God Bless!

    Hi there.

I was tested ER+ (weakly positive) PR-/Her2-. I have been on targeted hormonal therapy (Tamoxifen) for just under a year now. Were you given a percentage of progesterone receptors from the pathology? I know many MOs don't prescribe targeted hormonal therapy if its under 5% and some presribe it even if its 1%. Maybe you need a second opinion if not receiving hormone targeted therapy doesn't sit well with you and your wife? I think I would. I feel comfortable knowing that I'm throwing everything at it that I can, whether its helping or not remains to be seen.

    All the best.

    Cheers, Prue

Thank you for the reply, Prue

I will look go back and look at the percentages tonight.  I'm like you in that I want my wife to counter attack this cancer with EVERYTHING available.

    Vr,
