A little overwelmed today

Well, just got done with my cancer board meeting. What we thought was a grade 1, 1 lymph node involved IDC, is now a grade 3, 11 of 23 lymph nodes positive, stage 3 diagnosis. Getting my port placed next Tues and chemo to soon follow. Radiation and HT after that.

I was not expecting these results at all. None of us were. Trying to stay positive!!

Any prayers would be appreciated :)

Thanks for letting me vent a little,

Julie

    Julie,

I'll be praying for you. I remember the early days of my diagnosis, when the news just kept getting worse. At first, I thought I had a 3 cm. tumor with no nodes involved. Then, I found out it was 5 cm. with one node involved, plus it was Grade 3. Instead of being Stage 2B, I was Stage 3A. Ugh. The good news is that chemo is very effective in shrinking fast-growing tumors. So, after five months of chemo, the PET scan and MRI showed no active cancer in my breast or nodes. Good luck! Hope you get a pathologic complete response from chemo.

Julie, that is a lot to take in.

Please know that you are in my prayers.

Thanks Cowgirl and Elaine. Yeah I think I'm still in a little bit of shock.
