Hi all,

I had diagnosed with breast cancer by the mammography done in 5 years ago. It was on the 3rd stage and as a part of treatment, my left breast was removed. So I had done a breast implant surgery in a cosmetic surgery center (http://www.lakeviewsurgery.com/) with safe silicone implants for both my breasts to maintaining my aesthetic look. But now, I am wondering whether my right breast is also affected by this cancerous cells. Should I want to have another surgery to remove my implants before the breast removal surgery?

Welcome Lindambrown-I am alittle confused. Are you planning on having the right breast removed for preventive reasons? If you are, I would think they would be able to do the implant removal during the rt MX, I don't think there would have to be a separate surgery. They probably wouldn't have to remove the lt implant. What type of breast cancer did you have? Have they done MRI's? Have you met with surgeon to discuss surgery? Char

    Hi Lindambrown,

In 1978 I had saline implants for cosmetic reasons. March 2015 I had a BM with tissue expander placement. My BS removed the old implants during the BM. It was not a problem. If you are doing the math, you'll see I'm considered elderly at 70! Those implants had been in there a very long time!
