Endometrial Atrophy

Options

So nobody responded to my post about spotting after going off Arimidex but I had a conversation with my gynecologist that I thought I would pass on. He said he sees more bleeding with AIs than with tamoxifen, including after stopping like me. He said the reason is because it causes the endometrial lining to become very thin, like paper, and it can slough off. I thought it was interesting that I haven't read about this anywhere, nor have I seen it discussed. And yet he says he sees this frequently. Have any of you experienced it?

Because I was on tamoxifen before Arimidex he's going to do a full workup to rule out cancer but he thinks its the Arimidex.

No one? This is so weird. I know I can't be the only one experiencing this.

    Member of the Club,

Maybe the reason no one is responding is because few people would be reading this forum if they are done with AIs. I'm still on aromasin and have a very thin endometrial lining now. It was actually found to be thick enough right after BC surgery that I had to have a biopsy. Long story about why I had an US at that time. A couple of years later I had bleeding and had another US and the lining was then very thin.

I moisturize my vaginal tissues and surrounding area every night or I'm prone to such discomfort I cannot sit comfortably, as well as light bleeding. So I think your GYN is spot on.
