Can I ask a question about ER and PR positive...

What is the use of having the ovaries if they shut down the production of estrogen and prog. ??? I have pcos (polycystic ovaries) and I get cysts and I cannot take BCPS because of MTHFR so I just have to deal with them. I also have heavy, painful periods... so if I am ER PR +, I think I would just rather have them gone. The whole shebang gone. Not being able have hormone therapy I am afraid of turning into a man or something but still think I would rather have them removed. Thoughts? Will a doc try and talk me out of it? I am 41 but not planning anymore children. Thanks for any info and I am strickly thinking ahead because I don't have any concrete info yet on definites about my IDC.
