A year after my surgery I am still having problems with my incision. It will heal then get all inflamed and open back up again. Dr thinks I may still have stitches that were supposed to dissolve. I will probably have to be opened up again. Any one else have this problem?

Trixie, so sorry! I have not had this problem but hopefully someone else who has will respond soon. May I ask how is your overall heath outside of this issue? Have you had any problems healing before? Are you diabetic? Do you feel like your surgeon did a good job with the inital surgery? Sorry if I am asking too many questions! Like I said, hopefully you will get responses soon. Hugs to you

I had that problem with my port. After it was removed the skin remained sore, inflamed & tender. The surgeon finally went in a removed a dissolvable stitch that never had dissolved (it was several INCHES long!). I later talked to my GP about it & he said that was not uncommon. He said people who have open heart surgery often have stitches coming to the surface for years! Shocked If that is what it is, and you are like me, once it is removed you will have instant relief and healing.
