Bone scan and CT scheduled for possible bone mets

Options

I have had lower back pain for almost a year. I've tried exercise, chiropractic adjustments, and meloxicam given by my FP after prior PET came back normal. My quality of life has diminished, I need to rest due to pain level and requested pain killers a day ago so I could sleep and relax. My prior CT showed an 8mm Lucent lesion to the iliac bone, but I wasn't aware of the results and was told by someone when I called to inquire that it was arthritis. At my last MO visit I still complained of pain and requested results so I could visit someone to help with "arthritis". She told me I didn't have arthritis but it could be sciatica or mets then ordered the tests for June 1 and a follow up visit in her office June 2. My pain radiates to right lower pelvis and now tailbone. Afraid it could be mets....

NeyNey, I'm so sorry you're going through this, and it's really quite ridiculous that you would be told arthritis initially, then later told it's not. Are you still on Aromasin (which I saw on your bio page)? If so, perhaps your pain is related to that -- not arthritis per se, but some other type of bone or joint pain from that.

I'm glad you don't have to wait long to get some answers! Prayers that there's a B9 explanation for your pain, and this time be sure to ask for a copy of the report, so that you can go over it with a fine tooth comb so there are no surprise lesions in the future! (((Hugs))) Deanna

thanks Deanna! I haven't experienced much bone/joint pain with the Aromasin. I tried the other two AI's first and could barely move. This is a different kind of pain- burning rather than achy. I saw from your bio that you are stage IV. What treatments are you receiving? Is it bone mets
