BMX, at a water park in 1 month possible?

I am scheduled for BMX with direct to implant next week. My little boy has a birthday coming up at the end of June. We've been planning on going to a water park for his birthday. We planned it before my BC dx and I just don't have the heart to tell him no. Do you think at 1-month-postop, I will be recovered enough (and look decent enough to sport a swim suit) and splash around? I know nobody can tell how well I will respond to surgery, but is this crazy unrealistic or within the realm of possibilities... maybe if I delayed it to mid-July?

I think you certainly could attend but I would be concerned about getting the incisions wet or bumped. I'd personally be concerned about infection.

How much does your son weigh? You won't be lifting him overhead at 4 weeks. Will your husband or other adults accompany you? If you are just going to be splashing around in the little kid area, that should be fine. If you plan on going down adult slides, you have a small risk of hurting your arms. Ask your PS about high levels of chlorine and what kind of swimsuit you could wear (no wires/tight band/one piece). They all have different approaches. I am supposed to be wearing my post-surgical bra 24/7 for another 2 weeks, so my PS wouldn't want me to go to a waterpark in a swimsuit for several hours. There's a difference between spending hours at a park or a quick dip in a pool. I've popped into my pool (salt water) at home for some exercise wearing a bikini, but I do wear the surgical bra almost 23 hours a day. Waterparks have to deal with kids peeing in the water, lots of sweaty bodies, and sunscreen washing off, so they have high levels of treatment, but so do public pools. Waterparks should refresh with new water regularly and chemically treat accordingly. If the water doesn't look clear and clean, even when packed with people, don't go in it.

You should be able to attend, but may still be tiring easily. The party will be a happy opportunity to get out and feel more "normal" but let others do all the work! I had one step implants but would not have been ready for a swim suit at the one month mark. I too would be concerned about infection as I felt I was not completely healed and range of motion would have been an issue as well. Have you asked your surgeons about this?
