Hi, last year I found a smooth, hard bump in my upper right breast, I was 21 and recently gave birth to twins. I was sent for a mammogram and an ultrasound.

Mammogram: Well defined predominately hypoechoic solid appear lesion with some cystic changes as well as vascular flow as discussed above. Differential diagnosis would include phyllodes tumor, breast malignancy, atypical fibroadenoma.

Ultrasound: Mixed solid cystic lesion in the superficial soft tissues of the right breast in the 10 o'clock position with abnormal internal vascular flow. Differential diagnosis would include breast malignancy, phyllodes tumor, and atypical fibroadenoma. Biopsy is advised at this time.

After speaking with my surgeon I decided to have it surgically removed. However when performing surgery he decided the mass was too large and only took some of it out.

He reported: Imaging indeed showed a discrete mass, but this is not a fibroadenoma. The

stroma is nearly acellular and there is no duct proliferation. The lesion

may be related to the patient's recent pregnancy. Received in formalin labeled " right breast biopsy" is a 16 gram mass of

rather fibrous breast tissue measuring 58 x 30 x 18 mm. It has been

slightly incised in some areas. It is marked with India ink before

dissection. The specimen is considerably cauterized and is not oriented and

I do not have a specimen radiogram. On section the specimen is a uniform

light pink to gray color with no focal features at all.

Okay..so my question is, although its rare could there be a chance of missing cancer? Cancer runs in my family and so I guess Im just worried since it was not fully removed they could have missed something. And also that each of the following doctors were concerned and said they have never seen this in a women my age, even after my surgery.
