Scientists have developed a new anti-cancer stem cell agent capable of targeting aggressive tumor forming cells common to breast, pancreas, colon and prostate cancers.

The new compound, known as OH14, is capable of eradicating a number of different kinds of cancer cells, including cancer stem cells from breast cancer biopsies.

Thank you for posting this.  I read these articles and some times I just need some one to simplify it for me a little bit, they basically have developed a new adjuvant therapy, is that correct?  To prevent metastasis, right?  They are not saying that this is a curative therapy, is that right?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I tend to focus on articles that deal with research and future therapies. Often times, the technical details are beyond my comprehension.
    This news resonated with me.
IMO, eradicating cancer stem cells (CSC's) should be the ultimate goal. Immunotherapy seems like a promising approach. Combining these two methodologies may defeat cancer.

"The breakthrough comes almost exactly a year after the same research team announced that they had discovered a molecule capable of reversing the spread of malignant breast cancer."  This is a fantastic statement all by itself, so my question of course is, is this in clinical trial?  I may try and contact them.

This statement is about the main focus of the article, their new discovery: "This is an exciting development from a Cardiff team that is expert in the mechanics of regulating cell death. The drug that they have developed appears to target cancer stem cell activity, which suggests it will prevent metastatic recurrence and be useful in combatting drug resistance."  So I think that they want to use this new discovery as an adjuvant therapy. Still very good but the reference they made to their breakthrough that was found a year ago excites me more (being a stage IV patient).  It is all so so confusing...but it is all good news.

Leggo, Thank you.  This stuff makes me nuts, I read these little blurbs that sound awesome but I know that if it was truly awesome I would be hearing more about it.  So I guess this is another one of those things that may be happening down the road or maybe not.

Sorry MusicLover, my phone died before I could finish my post. I wanted to add that since it was just listed on the London Stock Exchange last week, I suspect it took them this long to find viable investors.....who will certainly want some promise of outrageous return before it moves forward. I was hoping it would stay independant and private. No such luck. Thank you John, for those links.
