I had an oophorectomy in 2012 and have been on letrozole since then... Last December I had an estrodiol test and it was 248 (normal for any fertile, no-where-near menopausal woman)!!!

Last test registered a 40... still not in *menopause* by my levels!

I am FREAKING out scared!!!

How dangerous is this for recurrence? How am I STILL full of estrogen?!?

(I noticed tetrocycline drugs affect the test... I was on mynocycline last December...???)

I am ready to cry I am so terrified...

    shellies,

This is interesting, I have often thought how do they measure oestrogen, I mean how can they be sure despite the AI's that it is all suppressed?

I am 8/8 positive for oestrogen and on letrozole and had an oophorectomy last year too. I have never heard of the Estrodiol test? is this a routine test? or was there some reason it was thought a good idea to get? Who suggested the test?

Are you actually post men? I know that Oestrogen is still produced even with all barriers in place, especially in fat, that is why we are encouraged to keep within our BMI.

I have also got a px for Vagifem, which does contain Oestrogen, but apparently not enough to cause worry, but it is time limited. I have not used it yet. bit scared to.

I feel 'full' full oestrogen too! terrible hot flashes that started in my late thirties and still have them. I mean really terrible.

Are you going back to see your onc or surgeon? It's awful to feel terrified, perhaps they can explain things to you to try to alleviate your fear.
