Help! Should I skip the AC#4?

I started my chemo in March. Started with TC and completed 1 session of TC, then switched to dose-dense AC-T. Have done 3ACs so far. But since i started AC-T, I keep getting fevers. Only lasted a day or two, but I would run a fever for a day almost every week. I also got chemo-induced anemia and had a blood transfusion. So I asked the doctor whether I can skip AC#4 and go on to Taxol. He said he is ok with it (i.e., I would have completed 1 TC, 3 AC and 4 Taxol in the end). I am debating now. Has anyone stopped AC early? Thanks a lot!

Only you can make that decision. Personally, if it's just a matter of a couple of days of fever and needing a transfusion, I wouldn't skip it. I did four rounds of AC, then 2 rounds of taxotere+cytoxan, then 1 round of just taxotere at a higher dose, then one more round of taxotere+cytoxan. My hemoglobin started dropping after the first round of AC and never stopped dropping; changing chemos didn't make a difference there, and I had to have a hemoglobin transfusion. I got through it all though. But, that's me. Only you can decide what's right for you.
