Follow-up Mamogram

I had my first Mamogram done last week since finishing treatment. I'm told that the results appear to be in the normal range. I'm also told that I have dense breast. The breast center is recommending that I have an MRI done but so far my oncologist has not recommended one. I haven't had one done at all. Is there anyone else here that hasn't had one done? Has anyone had to demand an MRI to get one? I asked about scans after treatment but was told that unless I showed signs of recurrence that they were not the current standard of care. Im scared to death of a recurrence and just want to know that I'm NED.
