Revision after immediate reconstruction?

Dear all,

Last summer, I had immediate, skin- and nipple-sparing reconstruction following a BMX, and all went well except my breasts are notably lopsided in that one is positioned about an inch or two lower than the other, and the nipples are set at different angles, like broken headlights. The other, and in my mind, less important issue, is some rippling on top of the breasts where there isn't enough fat to fill in (I'm pretty thin). So my surgeon and I have been discussing a revision, which I understand is common after immediate reconstruction.

I would love to hear from any of you who have undergone immediate reconstruction, followed by a revision. Were you happy with the final results? Did you experience additional problems associated with the follow-up surgery? Were the cosmetic benefits of the revision worth the surgical risks and consequences?

Thanks very much for sharing your experiences.

I did not have immediate nor nipple sparing reconstruction but I have the same issues. I had radiation and that caused one side to be higher, PT said that stretches may help that implant do drop since muscles are way tighter on that side. My PS thinks that rippling is caused by too much skin on the the other side and will remove some skin at the scar line. I will wait until fall with my revision since I already had oophorectomy this spring and that is enough surgery for a while.
