ribs feel bruised all the time!

Options

Hi all!! Well ive made it to my 1 year mark! And i should be happy and content...but i still feel worried. Is this normal? Im driving myself and everyone else crazy with my complaining im afraid...im still having so much dull pain that it makes me feel as though something is wrong. Doctors say stop worrying im fine..but how do they know? All theyve done is a mammogram recently. My rib on the side of the breast cancer and radiation feel so bruised and hurts to the touch and i didnt do anything to it at all...what could that be?

Hi, erinsoul. I had the very same thing, and I do believe now that it was probably just nerve damage from the surgery. It hurt alot, for two years, and has only recently let up! I think It is because after time, they must regenerate a little, or die, one or the other. I complained about it all the time too! But I do hope you feel better sooner, and good for you for finding bco, and welcome!

Thanks Tomboy! I was starting to worry maybe it was bone cancer as that is how bad the bone hurts :(

It is also quite likely that it is from the radiation. I get the same thing and I have had several bone scans, so I can be pretty sure it is not mets. It comes and goes. I finished rads 3 years ago.
