Question about Peau d' orange? Any help appreciated!
Waiting to see the dermatologist next week for a couple of punch biopsies. I seem to have Paeu d' orange going up my chest wall and branching out in between both breasts at the very bottom. I do have implants and just stopped breastfeeding 3 months ago. There's peau d' orange on both breasts as well but not red. Only in the middle of my chest its red. Is this even a symptom? I've heard that it more then likely only affects one breast. I have swollen lymph nodes under both armpits, but that could very well be from me checking constantly.

Is there anyone who could perhaps shed some light on this for me? I'm so scared.

Hi,
When you say you have peau d'orange, is your skin thick and hard? If it's just the pinholes on soft skin, don't worry, it's a skin issue, I have that too and it's just because i have hyperplasia of the skin, meaning too many normal cells on my breast skin. My skin is even slight thick but without any malinancy nor atypia. Not sure about the redness but you can have a mild lymphoid reaction (skin inflammation caused by irritation) at the same time, at least I did + swollen lymph nodes which are just a reaction to the skin inflammation. Me too I thought it could be IBC. One thing, try and ask for at least 6mm punch biopsies so they can get enough material
Hope this helps!

Alicki- Thank you for posting this! I have teeny tiny pin wholes flesh colored no redness, but nothing else (no thickening, no rash) on my Un-treated breast. I totally freaked out and saw the nurse practitioner at my onc office just yesterday. She couldn’t even see what I was talking about but said my breast looks & feels healthy. I can only see it in certain lighting. This is the first time I have seen some sort of explanation about this on this forum.
Luckily, I see all of my docs in October -my onc, breast surgeon, Rad onc. and this issue is giving me great anxiety during an already anxious situation- my first follow ups & mammograms since radiation on the left breast. (IDC stage 1 zero nodes)
Now my treated breast (surgery January & radiation April-March) left side- definitely has peau d orange & some lymphadema. And it’s veryobvious.
I’m large breasted and wonder if that is a factor?
