    Fascinating. Would be interesting to see if I carry this gene. I was born in Poland. Not totally explanatory since my twin was obviously born there too...and no cancer. We are fraternal so IF this was the cause, we could have different markers.

    WC - My mother was born in Poland too. Father was Slavic.

    Very interesting! One side of my family is Lithuanian -- adjacent, if not overlapping, depending on where the border was 100 years ago. The other side is from Alsace, which could also hold a distant genetic link to French Canadians.
