Does that mean bad news?

When I called Dr. office today and asked if surgical report available, I was told it is available. But the nurse was not willing to tell the result, just told me it is Dr. who will tell the result. I am starting worry about it. Does this mean bad news that they prefer to tell patient bad news later? I remembered when I visited Dr. before surgery, I was told the report would be available after 3 days. But right now one week passed, I have still not received call from Dr.. Actually, I will see Dr. tomorrow. Just feel kind of torture this night So how long had you waited for surgical report and who told you that?

Is this your biopsy report? I think I waited 3 days for mine and the doctor called me himself. I see a dermatologist and have had several skin biopsies and he won't let the nurse give any results, good or bad, he delivers all results himself. I think that is a pretty common practice. I hope your news is good.

    Take care

Thank you both! It is surgical report, not biopsy. The point is Dr. has not called me at first time. When I did biopsy at another hospital, someone did call me as soon as the report came out with Negative result........

My bs will call with results a.s.a.p. and will authorize staff to do so if she is out of town, etc., but I think she's unusual that way. I'm sorry you're having such a long, drawn out wait. It's one thing if the report just isn't available yet but when you know that everyone knows the results except you, it's hard to take!

I hope the news tomorrow is good. Please do let us know.

Willbefine, I hope you will hear from your Doctors soon. My BS, RO or MO would call me for results themselves. My BS would also allow her PA to a call but none would allow nurses. If I did call and get the nurse(s) they would immediately let me know that only the Drs or PA could give results. Hope your Dr calls soon. Good luck.

Thank you Ladyb! My call was directly transferred to nurse, no chances to talk to a Doc......
