Did anyone have metastasis w no tamoxifen after mastectomy?

I'm stage one, grade 3, er+ 98%. I'm declining tamoxifen and wondering if anyone had a reoccurance some place else?

Have you considered looking for published studies? When I was deciding whether to take tamox, I checked PubMed and found studies that compare the risk of recurrence for those taking it or not. I even found one study that compared patients who took it for 2 years vs not at all.

I have some ambivilance answering this question because I believe we are all so unique that the same treatment path can not work for each of us.

I was dx stage Ii 3/2011.My treatment included surgery, chemo and radiation plus opherectomy. I took tomoxifen for 6 months and an AI for two months. I stopped hormone treatment because of se.

The cancer returned 11/2014. I am now on an AI plus bone building Zometta and my cancer is shrinking. yay.

I will never know if I would have stayed on the hormone blocker if it would have made a difference. I have brca 2 mutation.
