May 2015 Surgery

I am preparing for a dmx with immediate reconstruction on May 18. I will be going out of town to have my surgery done and am concerned about what to expect afterwards. I am definitely not new to surgery, but definitely new to this type of surgery! I am having surgery at the City of Hope. They have a "Village" there, but I also have family in the area. I was told I'd see the PS 3 days post op and the BS a week post op. How mobile have those who have had the surgery been afterwards? I should spend 1 night in the hospital, then I was thinking 4 nights at the Hope Village then transferring to my sister's house afterwards until the drains come out and I can fly home. My sister does not have a recliner Any suggestions would be greately appreciated!
