TCHP Treatment Question

Hi there!

Do you ladies that are given the TCHP regimen, always get Herceptin and perjeta first? I am COLD CAPPING, so it would save SO much time if they could give me chemo first. Any insight would help! : )

    Alibeths,

I had Herceptin and Perjeta first then the "carpet bombers". Good luck with the cold capping! I have read about many ladies who were successful. There's truth to the cold thing..I put my hands and feet into cold mits. I ended up with ridges on my nails and they were weak, but they did not turn black or fall off. My toenails are a bit rougher..I just lost interest as the treatments progressed. I also kept ice in my mouth during Taxotere infusion to help address mouth and tongue sores. I believe both helped..

I am curious if there is a reason behind the order of TCHP..let us know what you hear.

    Amy

(Looking through my notes...) The first round for me, they started with taxotere. On my third round, they did taxotere, perjeta, carboplatin and then herceptin. Round 4 my MO did only T and C on my normal day and waited to get echo results before doing P and H a few days later. Round 5 they did P and H first, and then T and C.

Moral of the story? It seems the order can vary. :)

Hi alibeth, i am in Fla also.

I got everything all the time (just like the Eagles' song)! Taxotere, carboplatin, herceptin and perjeta in that order, each tx. With the anti nausea and steroids too. Cancer hates it therefore I deemed it all delicious!

You can do it. I felt my tumors shrinking after the first dose. Great incentive to keep on.

My onco does not believe in cold caps, so cannot help there. Best wishes sistah!
