Continued pectus muscle spasms/contractions, chest tightness and pain 1 and a half years s/p implant surgery following prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders, BRCA1 mutation. Relieved when I lean forward and some temporary relief with exercise. Told by tissue surgeons most of my symptoms would be relieved by removal of implants and tissue reconstruction. My surgeon, who does almost entirely implant surgery or old tram flaps, says does not think removing the implants will help. Neurontin helped some but not enough. Tried PT and acupuncture but not enough . Has anyone had similar scenario relieved by implant removal and tissue reconstr.?

I have had post surgical pain for years. I wish I had an answer for you and you have my empathy. I have done PT, many rounds of it, have done PT exercises at home, and nothing relieves it. Some days are better than others, but it is always there. All of the specialists I have seen said that there is no guarantee of relief with removal of the implant. I will share anything positive if I hear it. Good luck.
