breast cancer and root canals

just wondering how many people have had a root canal on the same side as their breast cancer.

    I had a root canal on the left side in 2000. Then had a lump in my left breast in 2010 and just was in denial or something and ignored it until I accidentally went back to the same doc who noticed it and she made me go get a mammogram which long story short, I was diagnosed in 2013 with breast cancer on the same side. Left

    I just had a root canal about a month ago, but it was on the side that I had a mastectomy on in 1996. Not on the side that I had a mastectomy on for a Stage III cancer in 2010.

    Dustina, it is highly unlikely that there is any connection at all. There is no science to support a connection between root canals and breast cancer.

    This is one of those "urban legends" that pops up from time to time.

    Unfortunately, this urban legend supports unscrupulous dentists performing these unnecessary procedures, and charging no small amount for their services, I'm sure.
