I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in January 2015, I was scheduled for a double mastectomy with reconstruction to start also on March 5, 2015. I have my expanders in. My pathology reports came back negative. My sentinel node came back clear. The only thing that has been flagged is my oncotype dx it came back with a score of 28 which means I am in the high end of a reoccurrence. I have gone to two oncologist and they say I am in the "gray" area. Which they say I have a 3% chance of the chemo benefiting me. So the choice is up to me. He did say I could do a lighter dose of chemo for 3 months, the TC regimen. Instead of the 6 months of the AC regimen. I am just scared of the side effects, it's not the hair loss that bothers me it's the secondary Cancer or the heart problems I could get years down the road. I am so confused.

You can refuse chemo and go straight to hormone therapy if you are scared of side effects. And your MOs are not even pushing chemo that hard. What was your grade? If you are lower grade then you'll get biggest bang for your buck fro hormone theraphy.
