Recommend a medical oncologist at Sloan Kettering NYC please - ?

Hi. My mom, recently diagnosed w IDC, is looking for a good onc at MSKCC for a second opinion. We need to see someone who is nice as well as smart :-) and good at answering questions. Availability is also key as her rads started this week and mo has put chemo on the back burner (after rads) and we're a little squirrely about the long gap between surgery and chemo.

My mom is seeing someone we like and respect at NYU but we'd like to run the plan past a second pair of eyes. Thanks all.

These are in NYC but not at Sloan: Dr. Steven Malmud (sweetie) at Beth Israel, Dr. Anne Moore (heard she was very nice & she just received some award) and Dr. Linda Vahdat (stays on top of her game but a little on the dry side) at Weil Cornell. 

Hopefully someone will give you a name at Sloan.

Clifford Hudis from Sloan is amazing - just google him for more information regarding his experience treating & researching breast cancer in particular. I got a second opinion from him when I was diagnosed and was very impressed by him..

i am looking for a very smart and thorough MO at MSkcc. I need some who is patient and spends the time to explain treatment option and doesn't mind me questioning them. I mean my life is literally on the line.

MSKCC in Basking Ridge or in NYC?

I liked Dr. Gorsky in Basking Ridge.

However - I decided to have my treatment at Morristown Medical Center - LOVED my MO there. Dr. Sarada Gurubhagatavula. She is young and smart and funny and allows me to ask as many questions as i need.
