Has anyone removed or replaced silicone implants?

I had breast cancer in 2009, treated with a lumpectomy and radiation. Haven't been on here in a long time because all has been just fine on the cancer front.

In 2010, I got silicone implants. I've never been completely in love with them for a whole host of reasons, but now my affected breast is starting to look a little misshapen. I know it's not leakage as I had an MRI a few weeks ago that came back clear. I've got an appointment with a plastic surgeon and I'm considering reducing the size of my implants or having the one in the unaffected breast removed completely and the affected breast resized to match.

However, I don't know anyone who has had implants removed or replaced with smaller implants, and so I don't know whether the result will be anything near what I'm hoping for. Plus I think I'm a little gun shy because I didn't have a positive experience in 2010 (3 surgeries, the second one on an emergency basis because my sutures opened up spontaneously in one breast, and the third because the first two were done wrong -- sub-muscular instead of sub-glandular as the dr and I had discussed, plus the lift he suggested created a much larger scar than he told me to expect).

I'd like to find out about other women's experience with breast implant removal or reduction, and it would be particularly helpful, I think, if that included women who had had radiation in one breast.

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated :-)
