Year and a half mammo coming up

Well. I never think about this, anymore. My low and intermediate DCIS, with a very non-aggressive micro-invasion, is having its year and a half mammo coming up in a few weeks. I am in tears every time. While I get that recurrence, in my case, is unlikely, there's no way to get around how one feels at each inspection. All good; all good. One bad film, and all bad. Please be there with me, my sisters.

It's like, well, I have a great prognosis. Still; at every screening, I turn into a little puddle of mud. My neighbor, who had an eye cancer, has had a little shoulder pain, so has to have an MRI. Her prognosis was great, and probably she'll be fine. But, the WORRY. I don't know if we ever get away from that.

percy4:  So good to see you back, but so sorry you are experiencing stress again.  I think once you get that cancer dx following what was expected to be a regular check up or appt., it is hard to ever go through another test/exam without the dreaded fear of more bad news.  I just had an annual exam and explained to my physician how I was feeling.  She asked me what she could do to help and quite frankly, nothing.  Hopefully with time, it will get easier.  But the reality of just how fast everything can change is just that "real".  Telling you that everything is overwhelmingly likely to be just fine does not help I know.  So I well just be here for you as you have been for me in the past.  ((((hugs))))

Just an update. My neighbor's MRI found an encapsulated shoulder; no cancer. She is like a new person again. I know how she feels.
