Why can't I send a private message?

It says I have sent too many today. I have not sent any. Why should there be a limit? Am I doing something wrong. Second time this has happened.

    Hi Suzanne,

    I see that you are a new member. Forgive my faulty memory, but I believe there are some restrictions on private messaging for new members. I would normally suggest pm'ing the mods, but since you can't pm, they will, hopefully see this and explain it to you

    Dear Susannecarol, we do have an automated system, as many other forums do, to protect members from being spammed by PMs by a new member. We are sorry that you were finding this a problem, but the restriction is there for a reason. You have received a PM from us regarding your situation too.

    We also moved your Topic from the area that is for Admin and Mod posts only, to here where it is best located.
