I'm 7 years post op. I know it seems ridiculous probably to still have problems with exercising at this point but I do. I want to start jazzercise but need a lead on a good mastectomy sports bra. A lot of regular sports bras have pockets, but too much give in the cup so there's still a lot of movement. Exercise has been a real obstacle for me. I usually do it at home without a the prosthesis, but not ready to do that for a group and I'd really like to try to a group class.

Thanks in advance.

Unikate I am also a uni and exercise regularly but without a prosthesis I always wear two bras, if you want to wear a prosthesis try putting a second bra over the first one and see if it holds you in place.

Here is what I recently figured out that works for me. I am a uni and was a 34D before the mastectomy - not huge but not small either, definitely noticeable when not wearing a prosthesis. For low impact exercise (walking, yoga, weight training) the Handful bra is great. It has removable pads that come with it which I leave in. I wear my beaded swimming form in the mastectomy side and put a Genie bra insert in the other side and I look mostly even. (I was exercising without any prosthesis from recovery until after radiation as it was too sore to have the swim form pressing against my chest. I figured if people were staring at my chest at the gym, it was pretty obvious what was going on with me, and they have bigger problems than I do. I wore bigger t-shirts with lettering or patterns to keep the eye distracted and busy a bit before noticing. I figured exercising, be it outside or at the gym, was far more important than what I looked like, I wasn't going to get better and 100% healthy without exercise.) For those days I run I now wear an Under Armour 2.0 bra I got on sale (i.e. not my first choice in color). It has removable pads but the hole is not big enough for me to easily insert and remove the swim form, plus it is a tighter fit and wasn't comfortable against my chest. So I stuck a small shower pouf bath sponge in the there and bingo, it's close enough! And I can wash the bra without taking the pouf out! I was totally ready to have to keep experimenting but so far this seems to be working. And I always have the option to go back to wearing just my old compression bras without a form.
